Important changes to route D01

Additional, leased buses are operating on route D01 on weekdays to allow for the refurbishment of the permanent bus fleet. At Civic Centre, these buses will arrive and depart from a temporary stop located at the drop-and-go on Hertzog Boulevard, directly next to the Civic Centre building.
Refurbishment of N2 Express buses under way

The City is refurbishing the MyCiTi bus fleet that operates the D01 Route between Khayelitsha and the Civic Centre station. The City has leased 14 buses to ensure continued service while the refurbishment is under way, and to also add capacity to the routes servicing Mitchells Plain. The buses have been branded MyCiTi and will start operating along the D01 route from Monday, 11 May 2026.
Permanent MyCiTi Stops: Woodstock & Hout Bay

As part of the City of Cape Town’s ongoing initiative to improve public transport services, the phased construction of MyCiTi bus stops in Century City, Melkbosstrand, Milnerton, Summer Greens, and Table View has commenced.
City’s first electric bus to arrive in August

The City’s Urban Mobility Directorate will take delivery of its first electric bus in August 2026, with another 13 e-buses to arrive between October and December this year. The City intends to roll-out the electric bus fleet along the MyCiTi routes that operate in the metro-south east, including the new routes that will form part of Phase 2A.

Residents advised of temporary partial road closure along Claremont Boulevard

The City’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise all road users of the temporary partial road closure of Claremont Boulevard from 23 March 2026 until the end of February 2027 as part of the ongoing transport infrastructure improvements in the area. The City’s Transport Planning and Network Management department will optimise the sequencing of the traffic signals in the area to assist with traffic flow.
