The City of Cape Town plans to undertake roadworks from 2 May to 26 May 2025 to convert several on-street parking bays in Claremont into temporary parking and loading facilities for Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS).

This is in preparation for August 2025, when GABS will use the temporary facilities to park and load passengers due to construction of a new MyCiTi station on Claremont Boulevard, at the site of the current GABS bus stop facility.

Work will start with new road markings and will take place on weekdays, but may also be required on Sundays to help limit weekday traffic disruptions.

What you need to know

• Affected businesses and residents are advised to plan ahead and to identify alternative parking arrangements in advance.
• This work will not affect GABS’ current operations, which will only make use of the temporary facilities from August 2025. Passengers are advised to look out for direct communication from GABS about this change closer to the time.
