Some products are impacted by the planned replacement of validators in buses and stations

Single-Trip Cards to be Discontinued

Single-trip cards will not work with the replacement validators planned for rollout in buses and stations from 2 December to 30 January 2026. 

As a result, single-trip cards will be phased out as follows:

  • The last day to buy a single-trip card: Wednesday 12 November 2025
  • The last day to use a valid single-trip card: Wednesday 3 December 2025
  • You may still use your single-trip card until Wednesday 31 December 2025, but only on buses and at stations still using the old validators. 

Occasional users can still load a myconnect card with a 1, 3 or 7-day Day Pass offering unlimited travel or with Mover points, which are valid for 3 years.

"Standard" Value No Longer Accepted

If you are one of the few passengers who still have “Standard” or EMV value on your card from prior to 2022, please take note: 

This value will no longer be accepted for payment of MyCiTi fares as of Thursday 4 December 2025.

  • Loading money as Standard or EMV was discontinued in 2021, but any remaining balances have still been accepted.
  • As of 4 December 2025, these balances will no longer be accepted for fares. Please use this value before 4 December 2025 or at any shop accepting card payments thereafter.

This change DOES NOT affect passengers with Mover points or one of our Day Pass or Monthly Pass packages.
