MyCiTi is holding free card promotions linked to the launch of new routes on November 30 in Camps Bay, Melkbosstrand and Century City.

In terms of a recently approved Council policy, free myconnect cards may be made available when new MyCiTi routes launch. The free card distribution is aimed at making MyCiTi accessible to new and potential users, and to ease the burden of paying upfront for the card.

The free card comes loaded with 30 Mover points, so you only pay R30 for the points and save on the R25 card cost. Anyone can get a free card. All you need is R30 in cash and to present proof of identity (ID book, driver's licence, passport or birth certificate).

Parents of caregivers applying on behalf of children under 18 must sign on their behalf, and the child must be present.

‘This is part of this administration’s efforts to provide safe, affordable and reliable public transport for all communities across the city. An efficient transport network is one of the most effective ways to link our communities living on the outskirts of the city to economic opportunities, learning opportunities and social amenities,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member: Transport for Cape Town, Councillor Brett Herron.
