The construction of permanent MyCiTi bus stops in Woodstock and Hout Bay will take place between May and August 2026.

These works involve replacing temporary bus stops with permanent structures across the footprint, following a successful public participation process.

As a result, some permanent bus stops will be built a few metres from their current location to comply with road safety requirements, maintain design consistency and address space limitations.

What to expect during construction:

  • All services will continue as usual, though minor delays may occur.
  • Short-term lane restrictions may be implemented while work is underway.
  • The existing MyCiTi temporary bus stop poles will be moved about 30 metres away from the construction zone to ensure safety for all road users.
  • Access to homes and businesses will be available at all times.
  • Clear signage and safety officials will assist residents and motorists through the affected area.
  • Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and use the MyCiTi app for up-to-date bus schedules.
