Construction has commenced in Atlantis with the construction of a number of permanent MyCiTi stops and shelters to replace temporary MyCiTi stops in use.

MyCiTi services will continue to operate as planned but passengers on route 244 are advised of possible delays.

Passengers should continue to use the temporary pole until advised to make use of the new stops. Some permanent stops will be built a few metres away from the temporary stop in order to comply with safety and design requirements.

This work form part of the replacement of temporary stops across the MyCiTi footprint, following a successful public participation process.

Work is planned in phases in the following areas: Atlantis, Century City, Melkbosstrand, Milnerton, Hout Bay, Mitchells Plain, Summer Greens, Sunningdale and Woodstock.

Passengers can look forward to permanent structures with branded MyCiTi totem poles, lighting, leaning rails for passenger comfort, bus service information, universal access measures including tactile paving and level access to the bus.

Affected passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and to download the MyCiTi app for the latest bus times.
