The City of Cape Town intends to introduce a new MyCiTi stop in the Atlantis network. The proposed new stop, called Nicobar, would be located at the intersection of Meermin and Nicobar Streets.

The new Nicobar MyCiTi stop is proposed in response to requests from the community. The stop will serve feeder routes 232 and 244 to Protea Park, Avondale and Atlantis Industria West. It will also link commuters to the nearby Atlantis station, where passengers can change to other routes to reach their destination in the city.

‘The proposal to introduce a new stop in Atlantis demonstrates that the City listens when we receive requests from the community and responds with solutions where viable. The MyCiTi network of routes in Atlantis provides convenient stops for residents across all of the suburbs. The proposed Nicobar stop can be a valuable addition as many commuters will now have a stop closer to their homes, one that can connect them to the main station and hubs within Atlantis,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The City of Cape Town is giving residents the opportunity to comment on the proposed location of the stop until 4 May 2022. Residents can submit their comments or objections in the following ways:
