MyCiTi Fares for 2018/2019

On 1 July every year, there are changes to the MyCiTi fares, as part of the City of Cape Town’s annual budget. 

Get a myconnect card

You need a myconnect card loaded with money for travel. The myconnect card is a bank card which expires. Get yours from station kiosks and participating retailers.

Single-trip cards

This alternative to the myconnect card includes one journey anywhere on the system within two years of purchase. Get yours from MyCiTi station kiosks.

Load Mover or Standard and pay as you go

MyCiTi has a distance-based fare system where you pay for the distance you travel, grouped into distance bands. Load any amount of money and pay Standard fares or load Mover points and save 30% at all times.

Mover Packages

Load Mover packages at MyCiTi station kiosks, participating retailers and cash-accepting Absa ATMs. Mover points are valid for three years.

Load Multi-day Packages

Load a multi-day package on your myconnect card and enjoy unlimited travel for a fixed period.

Off-Peak Travel (OPT) packages

Explore the city with one-day (OPT1), three-day(OPT3) and seven-day (OPT7) off-peak travel packages offering unlimited travel outside weekday peak times, and all day on weekends and public holidays. Load an OPT1, OPT3 or OPT7 at station kiosks, choose a start date and travel anywhere, as much as you wish.

Day Pass packages

Load a one-day, three-day or seven-day Day Pass at station kiosks, choose a start date and enjoy unlimited travel anywhere, at any time of day.

» Valid for 1, 3 or 7 consecutive calendar days

Monthly Pass

Enjoy unlimited travel anywhere, including the Airport, on any day and at any time for one month from a start date of your choice. Load this on your myconnect card at station kiosks and simply top up every month, tapping in and out as much as you like.

» Valid for 1 month from a date of your choice
