CAPE TOWN MARATHON

EXPO: 21 - 23 MAY 2026

Participants of the Cape Town Marathon can gain access to a free shuttle service operated by MyCiTi for the Expo between 21 and 23 May at the DHL Stadium.

Route 1: Cape Town International Convention Centre – P3 embayment on Granger Bay Boulevard

  • Thursday 21 May 2026: First bus from CTICC at 08:30 and last bus from P3 embayment at 19:30
  • Friday 22 May 2026: First bus from CTICC at 08:30 and last bus from P3 embayment at 22:00
  • Saturday 23 May 2026: First bus from CTICC at 05:30 and last bus from P3 embayment at 17:30

Route 2: Civic Centre MyCiTi station - Thibault Square MyCiTi station - Stadium MyCiTi station

  • Saturday 23 May 2026: First bus from Civic Centre station at 05:30 and last bus from Stadium station at 17:30

Route 3: Waterfront Loop Shuttle

Buses will operate frequently in a loop within the Waterfront precinct, with buses departing from the MyCiTi Silo stop to the P3 parking on Granger Bay Boulevard

  • Thursday 21 May 2026: First bus from the Silo stop at 08:30 and last bus from P3 embayment at 19:30
  • Friday 22 May 2026: First bus from the Silo stop at 08:30 and last bus from P3 embayment at 22:00
  • Saturday 23 May 2026: First bus from the Silo stop at 05:30 and last bus from P3 embayment at 17:30

All other connecting routes and services require each passenger to have a myconnect card loaded with money for travel.

PAID SHUTTLES

There will be paid-for shuttles running from the University of Cape Town and Century City. Tickets can be purchased via the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon website.

RACE DAY: 24 May 2026

Participants of the Cape Town Marathon can gain access to a free shuttle service operated by MyCiTi on race day on 24 May 2026.

Route 1: Cape Town International Convention Centre – P3 embayment on Granger Bay Boulevard 

  • First bus from CTICC: 05:30 
  • Last bus from P3 embayment: 17:30

Route 2: Civic Centre MyCiTi station - Thibault Square MyCiTi station - Stadium MyCiTi station

Pre-event:

  • First bus from Civic Centre station: 05:30 
  • Last bus from Stadium station: 06:45

Post-event:

  • First bus from Civic Centre station: 11:00
  • Last bus from Stadium station: 17:30

Route 3: Waterfront Loop Shuttle

Buses will operate frequently in a loop within the Waterfront precinct, with buses departing from the MyCiTi Silo stop to the P3 parking on Granger Bay Boulevard P3 parking on Granger Bay Boulevard

  • First bus from the Silo stop: 11:00
